Christmas events coming up in Kingston

Christmas is just around the corner and there's lots of events going on in and around Kingston to help get you in the Christmas mood.

Kingston Christmas Market opened on 14 November and will be running until 5 January.

Moreover, Alpine Village opened on 7 November.

As well as Christmas-themed bar and food and gift stalls, there will be various events running whilst the market is open, including:

·      Bavarian curling in the grounds at All Saints Church, which will be running up until (and including) Christmas Eve.

·      Live music, which will be taking place on the Pyramid Bar Stage in the Ancient Market Place.

·      Open Mic Night, which will be taking place every Tuesday from 6pm throughout the festive season and is open to musicians, singers, and comedians.

Nutcracker Trail

From 14 November to 5 January, you can embark on a festive adventure to find 15 life-sized cheeky Nutcrackers hidden around town.

The trail is perfect for families looking for something free and fun to do over the Christmas holidays.

Plus, the first 300 people to complete the trail will receive an exclusive wooden tree decoration.

At the end of the trail, one lucky participant will be selected to win a Christmas hamper filled with treats from local businesses like John Lewis, Las Iguanas, Pullingers, LUSH, Hotel Chocolat, JoJo Maman Bébé, Between the Lines, and more.

To join the trail, you must collect your Christmas booklet from Waterstones, the Rose Theatre, or Cass Art.

Santa's Grottos

This year, there's various places in and around Kingston for the kids to meet Father Christmas, including Fenwick, The Bentall Centre, Corner Stone, and Hampton Hill Theatre.

Charitable Foundation pop-up stalls

From 16 November to 23 December, every Friday to Sunday, different charities organised by Kingston Charitable Foundation will be hosting a pop-up stall in the Makers Market at Memorial Square.

This unique initiative offers a wonderful chance for visitors and locals to support a variety of meaningful causes while enjoying the festive atmosphere.

The charities participating include Kingston Hive, Milaap Centre, Barnfield Riding for the Disabled, RBKares, and Parents in Need among many others.

Santa's Pub Run

The amateur running community, Pub Run Club, is hosting Kingston's first-ever Santa's run like no other.

On 12 December, Kingston town centre is expected to be taken over by 100 runners in a full Santa suit and with party bag speakers playing all the best Christmas songs, spreading around the festive joy (and sweat).

Santa's Pub Run consists of a 5k run through Kingston and all contributions will go towards raising money for the Kingston Hospital charity.

The run starts at The Grove in Surbiton at 6pm.

The Lamb in Surbiton's annual Christmas Market is back on Saturday 14 December.

The market will open at 1pm.

At the market, there will be lots of local makers and small businesses as well as 16 different stalls, all with unique and handmade gifts, including ceramics, glassware, prints, t-shirts, cosmetics, jewellery, and unique artworks.

The country's best comedians are coming to the Rose Theatre on 9 December for a spectacular all-star festive show, starting at 7pm.

Catch a huge show headlined by the multi-award-winning Sara Pascoe, star of Live at The ApolloQi8 Out of 10 Cats & many more. 

Joining Sara is a spectacular line-up with double Edinburgh Comedy Award winner John Kearns, Mock The Week's whipsmart wizard Rhys James, rapid rising newcomer Jin Hao Li, and the impeccable Jen Brister as host.

Voices of Hope is hosting a Christmas Concert through song and spoken word on Saturday 7 December.

The concert will run from 6.30pm - 8pm at Kingsgate Church in Kingston.

It will be "a magical evening filled with beautiful music and inspiring stories featuring musicians from Voices of Hope's community choirs, KingsGate Church and special guests from the London Korean Senior Choir and Kew College Prep School Choir.

"This in-person event promises to warm your heart and get you into the holiday spirit."
