Chessington Mum shares 32p ice cream recipe for school holidays

A mum and influencer from Chessington has teamed up with AO.com to share the ultimate ice-cream recipe, which only has two ingredients, and at 32p a portion, it is perfect for the school holidays.
Samantha Donnelly has thousands of followers on Instagram and Pinterest and has shared her favourite two-ingredient ice cream recipe to help Brits keep their cool this summer.
A mum of a teenage daughter and two stepsons, Donnelly says that the recipe is perfect for all kinds of warm weather scenarios. She also mentioned it helps her manage hot flushes, especially during a heatwave.
Donnelly said: "When the kids need to chill out and relax in the garden, they love helping themselves to this easy ice cream recipe. It's easy enough for them to make on their own and great for a snack to cool down with.
"I'm also at an age now where I suffer from hot flushes, which can be an added nightmare when heatwaves hit. As I'm sure anyone who gets hot flushes will know, they can make you feel really grouchy and irritable, and you feel the heat from warm weather even more than usual.
"So, I love this recipe to help me cool down and just eating a few spoonfuls in the shade can really help me cool off."
A study from freezer retailer AO.com revealed Brits lack confidence making popular recipes, so this summer the retailer is teaming up with influencers and recipe creators to share easy recipes to help brits create their favourite cuisines.

Speaking about the recipe, Donnelly said: "I love that this ice cream recipe is so easy to make.
"You don't have to fork out for an expensive ice cream making machine, and don't even need to stir it to stop it crystalising.
"The ingredients make it nice and creamy all on its own, and at 32p a portion it's an easy sweet treat to make when the weather's hot."
The ingredients for Donnelly's ice-cream are:
- 1 x can Carnation condensed milk (£1.70, Iceland)
- 1 x tub of double cream (£1.50, Iceland)
Total ingredients cost: £3.20, 32p per portion (makes 10)
Optional flavourings include:
- Vanilla extract (£1.50, Iceland)
- Raspberry desert sauce (£1.85, Iceland)
- Chocolate – mix in your favourite bar
- In a large bowl, whisk the double cream until it becomes thick. You will know it is ready when peaks have formed in the cream, or you the cream sticks to the whisk when you lift it out of the bowl.
- Once the cream has reached the desired consistency, pour in the condensed milk and mix thoroughly until everything is well combined.
- That is it! Pop the mixture in a freezable container with a lid and leave it to freeze. It can take about 6-8 hours to freeze, so prepare in the morning and freeze throughout the day for a sweet post-work snack or freeze overnight.
Speaking about flavour variations, Donnelly said: "It's so easy to personalise this recipe and make your favourite ice cream variations.
"For a really easy option, try the caramel version of Carnation sweetened condensed milk, it's great for a toffee flavour and usually costs the same as the plain version from a supermarket.
"Or if you want to create your own raspberry ripple, you can use raspberry desert sauce. It's really easy to make and takes just one extra step.
"Make the mixture as usual, and then when you're ready to freeze it, put a third of the mixture in the freezing tub. Then squirt a thin line of raspberry desert sauce up and down the mixture to create your layer of sauce. Then repeat this process with the rest of the mixture, so that you have layers of ice-cream and raspberry sauce, then freeze as usual.
"You can get raspberry desert sauce for as little as £1.85 from your supermarket, so this recipe helps you make raspberry ripple for just 53p a portion."
