Ten days after a boat capsized on the Thames at Sunbury Lock, south west of Richmond, the police have found the missing body of a man.

The missing man, in his 60s, entered the water near Sunbury Lock, Surrey, on 11 October when a boat capsized while five others were saved.

Formal identification of the body, found near Sunbury Weir, has yet to take place, but the family of the missing man is being supported by a specialist officer, Surrey Police said.

An investigation is underway but the incident is not being treated as suspicious, officers added.

Ch Insp Andy Jenkins said "Throughout this tragic incident we have been in close contact with the man's family to offer them support and information during this incredibly difficult time.

"Our thoughts remain with them, and we ask that their privacy is respected while they come to terms with their loss."
