An American fast-food chain could expand the outdoor seating area at its Kingston restaurant.

Popeyes, which opened its Clarence Street branch earlier this month (July) is seeking Kingston Council's permission to open its expanded outdoor seating area for the purpose of consuming food or drink during its operating hours of 8am - 10pm daily.

If the application is approved, the chain hopes to have three tables, six chairs, and four Popeyes-branded windbearing barriers on the pavement outside the restaurant.

Residents have until 28 July to submit representations for this application and can do so here.
