18-year-old man taking to hospital following fight in Kingston town centre

An 18-year old man was taken to hospital with injuries to his face following a fight in Kingston town centre just before 10pm on Friday. 23 January.

The London Ambulance Service and Met Police were called to the scene, with police tape put in place outside of Urban Fun in Kingston.

A Met spokesperson told Nub News: "At around 21:15hrs on Friday, 23 January officers were called by the London Ambulance Service to reports of a fight in Clarence Street, Kingston.

"Officers attended the scene where an 18-year-old man was being treated for injuries to his face. He was taken to hospital where his injuries were deemed not life-threatening and not life-changing.

"No arrests have been made at this early stage and enquiries continue.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting ref CAD7665/23Jan or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

A spokesperson for Urban Fun added; "We are aware of an incident that took place outside our venue last night involving a group of youths. The incident occurred in a public area and was not connected to the venue, its operation or our customers.

"Our door team acted promptly and responsibly to help prevent the situation from escalating and the police attended the scene and we will assist them with any enquiries.

"The safety of our customers, staff and the wider community is always our priority and we will continue to work closely with the local authorities and partners to support that."
