Welcome to your bi-weekly travel blog from Surbiton high street's independent travel agent, 7 Seas Holidays.

This week, 7 Seas is providing travel trips for the Balearic Islands.

The Balearic Islands in Spain is one of the most popular destinations in the western Mediterranean.

There are enchanting coves, gorgeous sunsets and lush natural landscapes, the ideal summer destination. Located in the Mediterranean Sea, this archipelago is made up of the islands of Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera.

It contains some of the most popular holiday destinations in Europe.

Thousands of tourists flock to these sun-soaked havens off the Spanish coast each year to enjoy a few days at the beach.

There are great beaches on each of the four main Balearic Islands – Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera – that should not be missed. It's great for exploration, relaxation and partying.

Life in the Balearic Islands is definitely a paradise. The island of Ibiza is all about partying, the island of Menorca is an oasis of peace and beauty, the island of Formentera is a sunbathing paradise, and the island of Majorca has everything.

You will find everything here from mountains, beautiful springs, waterfalls, hidden bays and wide beaches.

There are palm promenades and pine forests here, natural parks with a hint of history, beautiful sights, and delicious cuisine. There are a lot of attractions for children and adult events.

Known for their fusion of conquering cultures, Mallorca and Menorca include Roman ruins, Arab baths, Georgian mansions, cathedrals, and a Christian god. In Menorca, there are a few archaeological sites worth exploring, but most of the notable landmarks are found in Mallorca. Among the most famous is the Cathedral de Mallorca, a large Gothic building with a small museum on site.

Mallorca

The largest island of the Balearic Archipelago, Mallorca, is situated in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. You can enjoy its undeniable beauty, the variety of activities you can take part in, and also its rural landscapes.

You will fall in love with this island the moment you land, whether you enjoy water sports, hiking, climbing or boating. Unwind in Mallorca, a feast for the eyes and the ears.

As you gaze through the magnificent Gothic stained-glass window of Palma Cathedral, you may hear the dulcet tones of the Song of the Sybil. The Song of the Sybil is a Gregorian chant that once heard can never be forgotten.

On the mountainside in the interior of Majorca Island is Deia, a beautiful village surrounded by citrus orchards, olive and almond trees, and the occasional vineyard.

In the background is the mountain, Puig des Teix. Visit hidden caves, discover lighthouses with endless views, and see breathtaking sunsets in turquoise coves of water so clear that boats seem to float in the air.

In this idyllic landscape, mountains and beaches are just a few steps away from each other, providing inspiration for generations of writers, musicians, and painters.

Menorca

Known for its archaeological wonders and picture-perfect beaches, this island is an idyllic getaway for travellers. Menorca is the second largest island of the Balearic archipelago and one of the must-see paradises in the Mediterranean.

The blue of its waters, the dark green of its forests, and the white of its sandy beaches make up its diverse range of colours.

With beautiful landscapes and charming villages, Menorca is an island with a seafaring tradition.

Formentera

Formentera is the smallest of the Balearic Islands, but its turquoise waters make it one of the most beautiful. Besides its beautiful nature and intense colours, Formentera has an endless list of things that will keep you entertained for years to come.

Ibiza

Located in the Mediterranean Sea, Ibiza has some of the world's most stunning scenery and crystal clear waters. Due to this, the island is one of the best places to go at any time of the year.
