Speaking about the win, Andy Proctor, a Manager at the pub told Nub News: "Duncan, the owner, has been here for 40 years in October and my wife Josie has worked for him for 39 years in November, and I've been here 29 years, but she's [Josie] is the engine behind the pub as well as the great members of staff that keep the pub going, from cleaners to bar staff. It's a great group staff wise.

"I'm really pleased by this because its our customers that have voted for us and it's customers that make the place. It's a real community pub - we do lots for charity and host a variety of events including sports, games, and wee competitions. Everybody is welcome. I always believe that if a stranger comes into a pub, they'll always come back to the pub because they'll get a good welcome.

"And we're always playing sports. If there's any sport we don't have that punters want to watch, we'll make sure we get it on, and we have an amazing juke box. We've got a good local feel."

Other noteable pubs, each with two votes, include The Antelope in Surbiton, O'Neill's in Kingston, The Bishop in Kingston, the Royal Oak in New Malden, Whelans in Kingston, and the Coronation Hall in Surbiton.

Moreover, the Grey Horse, Elm Tree, The Albert Arms, The Willoughby Arms, The City Arms, Druids Head, The Fox, Waggon and Horses, Bonnie Rogues, The Mill, The Norbiton, and The Ram all got a vote.
