While many residents in the north of the borough vote in the Richmond Park constituency, Nub News will also be monitoring the results of the Kingston & Surbiton count in Chessington.

Sarah Olney is declared the MP for Richmond Park constituency, receiving 28,528 votes for 54.4%.

"The Liberal Democrats are going to be a force to be reckoned with in the new Parliament," she told the crowd.

Lib Dem Munira Wilson remains Twickenham's MP with 56.0% of the vote. Following her 30,185 votes is Conservative Jonathan Hulley with 8,728 votes.

Ed Davey holds onto Kingston & Surbiton securing 25,870 votes overall: 6,746 votes more than in 2019.

2:12am

Kingston and Surbiton sees 50,818 votes cast: a turnout rate of 66%.

The Conservatives see their first wins of the evening in Rayleigh and Wickford and neighbouring constituency Castle Point in south Essex.

The Liberal Democrats win their first seat in Harrogate and Knaresborough.

BBC first show Lib Dem leader Ed Davey at the Kingston & Surbiton count in Chessington as commentators describe the candidate's campaign as "a midlife crisis on camera".

Exit polls suggest the party could win 61 seats nationally – over five times the number achieved in 2019.

However all nine seats announced so far have gone to Labour, mostly in the North East.

Richmond Park's turnout is announced as 69.9%.

Twickenham's voter turnout is confirmed as 71.8%, while Richmond Park is yet to be confirmed.

Labour wins five seats nationwide: four holds, and one new seat in Swindon South.

Labour's Tom Bruce is the first candidate to arrive at the count.

Mr Bruce, who is running in Twickenham constituency, says: "The exit polls seem to be incredibly positive for the Labour Party, [I'm] really excited to be a part of that."
