A Kingston-based GP practice has been rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in three areas.

Kingston Health Centre was rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). As well as being rated Outstanding overall, the practice was rated outstanding for Effective, Responsive and Well Lead and is the only practice in the area to have achieved this rating.

Speaking about the rating, CQC said: "When we inspected Kingston Health Centre, we found the practice offered people exceptionally personalised care, tailored to their needs"

"This was made possible because leaders fostered a culture of continuous improvement and engagement with everyone in their local community."

"Leaders were receptive to new ideas and constantly looking for ways to improve people's experience.

"When they recognised a gap in mental health services, they supported two doctors to complete mental health diplomas. They encouraged and supported their staff to take on training and specialise, and staff said they led by example."

It added: "Everyone at the Kingston Health Centre should be very proud of the services they're providing for their community. We hope other services look to this report as an example of outstanding practice, to promote improvements across the sector."

Kingston Health Centre has also received extensive positive feedback from patients, which the practice says it is "extremely proud of."

Patients have described the surgery as "the best I have experienced," with many praising the team, including comments such as, "the level of care and attention I receive from all doctors and the entire staff is exceptional." Patients have also highlighted the accessibility of appointments, with patients commenting that they "always manage to get an appointment whenever needed."

Kingston Health Centre mainly provides care to the local community within Kingston, Surbiton, Hampton Wick, Teddington & Ham but is also able to register people who live outside of the area under its Out of Area Registration Scheme.
