A parking fine was handed to the motorist after he parked on a footpath in Richmond Park

A motorist who was given a parking fine in Richmond Park was last week handed a much bigger fine in court after contesting the first.

The man was issued with a £40 fixed penalty notice on October 10 2020.

He was parked on a footpath in Richmond Park close to Pembroke Lodge.

He contested the fine and was found guilty on Friday 13 August at Lavender Hill Magistrates, Royal Parks Police have said.

He was handed a total fine of £427.
