Two more school streets are set to be trialled in Kingston this month, the Council has announced.

Latchmere Road and Dinton Road in North Kingston will both close to traffic at certain hours school days as part of the trial, which is due to start on 24 May.

These roads, which are located next to Latchmere School, will be closed to cars from 8.15-9.30am and 2.30-4pm during school term dates.

Anyone living on Latchmere or Dinton Road must register their vehicle with the Council by Friday 21 May. You can register HERE

The school streets scheme has been introduced to encourage eco-friendly transport in the area.

The Council says it will also help make school journeys safer for parents and children.

66% of respondents to a local consultation supported a proposal for the scheme, they added.

The scheme is being trialled through an Experimental Traffic Management Order (ETMO) which allows Councils to run consultation alongside the trial periods.

It will run a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 18 months.

To enforce the scheme, three Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras will be installed in the following locations:

- Latchmere Road roundabout with Latchmere Lane

- Latchmere Road junction with Park Road

- Dinton Road junction with Bockhampton Road

Three other school streets are currently being trialled in Kingston borough.

And a scheme in Chessington on Mansfield Road has been made permanent by a Council committee following a trial last year.
