A 200k plan to give Kingston riverside a makeover is now open to feedback from the public.

Designs to transform the riverside space outside Kingston John Lewis were revealed by Kingston Council last month.

Now members of the public can have their say on the development by filling in a survey or attending an online meeting this week.

The project is part of a £2.8 million drive to revive the stretch of riverside between Kingston bridge and Turks Pier, announced last year.

It is being delivered by Kingston Council in partnership with Kingston University, Kingston First and the UK charity Creative Youth.

£200k from the Mayor's Getting Building Fund is being spent on the project which the Council hopes will see the under-used riverside space by Kingston John Lewis turned into a thriving creative hub.

The winning design for the riverside revival was submitted by Teddington architects Weston Rengifo Architectural Practice (WR-AP) who worked with secondary school students at Kingston Academy on the plans.

The design beat out others in a competition held by Kingston Council earlier this year.

WR-AP and Kingston Academy's vision for the space would see it transformed into a colourful area with two living walls, a fountain, and a stage for buskers.

More in-depth concept designs will be revealed after the Council gets feedback on the initial plans.

Fill in the Council survey here.

Email [email protected] to attend the online feedback session held on Wednesday 22 September from 5.30-7pm.
