Student Participation Adviser at Kingston University -£34,295 per year

Based in the Access, Participation and Inclusion team, the role involves working with academic colleagues to deliver personal development workshops for students, including agreeing schedules, participants, content, creating resources and delivering workshops.

It also involves working with the Union of Kingston Students and academic colleagues to organise the Course Representative programme, including creating and delivering recruitment and training resources and events.

The Person

The successful candidate will have experience of delivering personal development workshops to students and student participation programmes within higher education.

They will have excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly, concisely and logically to students and staff at all levels.

They will have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people and experience of managing student staff and/or volunteers.

They will also have excellent project management skills and demonstrate their ability to provide excellent customer service to students and staff.

Raise the achievement of students throughout their journeys at Kingston University

The Directorate's role is to provide guidance and support for learning, enhance the employability of our students, promote access, participation and inclusion, offer students the right development opportunities for them and support all student activities through collating and utilising survey data.

Our activities are student-centred and developed in conjunction with staff and students. Together we provide expert advice, guidance and initiatives that supports course teams to improve teaching quality. Our careers and employability function helps students acquire professional experience and be ready to hit the ground running when starting their careers.

As a Directorate, we are service-oriented, honest and collaborative and use evidence-based approaches. We take a whole life cycle approach to student success to help improve student outcomes for students of all backgrounds.
