Bushy Park issue statement after Woodland Gardens staff face abusive behaviour from visitors

By Ellie Brown - Local Democracy Reporter 22nd Jun 2021

Bushy Park is reminding the public that the Woodland Gardens are open from 9am daily, after members of their unlocking team faced abusive behaviour from early-morning visitors.

In a Facebook post today (22 June), the Park released a photo of signage on the gates to the Gardens with details of their opening hours.

They said: "A note to say that the gates to the Woodland Gardens open from 9am.

"This means 9am is when the unlocking process begins and the team work their way around the gates in turn.

"There have been incidents lately where visitors have been abusive to members of our team opening the gardens.

"This is, to put it mildly, not ok."

The Woodland Gardens are known for their tranquil atmosphere and abundance of interesting nature including many water plants in the Gardens' ponds.
