82-year-old man in life-threatening condition following crash on Kingston A3

A man is in a life-threatening condition following a car crash on the A3 in Kingston last weekend.

A car collided with the 82-year-old pedestrian near the road's junction with Rydal Gardens just before 5am on Saturday 31 July.

The octogenarian was rushed to hospital and is in a critical condition. His next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is helping police officers with their enquiries. There have been no arrests.

Kingston police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dash-cam footage of the incident to contact them.

In a statement , the force said: "Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances of the incident and would like to hear from a number of other drivers who were in the area at the time.
