Merchandising Consultant (Space Planner) Summary £49,500 up to £66,000 per annum - This isn't an ordinary job. This is an extraordinary experience.Our Head Office Merchandising team are looking for a forward thinking, energetic, proactive, and confident Consultant to join the team. This is an exciting new role with the principal aim of optimising space utilisation across Lidl's store estate, with a clear focus on what our customer needs. You will need to be a forward thinking and driven individual, happy to work independently as well as with stakeholders from across multiple business areas. You will have a can-do attitude who enjoys working on new ideas and projects and thrives on change. The central objective of this role is to help and support the Team Manager in establishing a new Macro Space Planning function within the business, reviewing the space assigned to each merchandising section in each store, and proactively seeking opportunities. You will analyse store and category performance and provide insights into areas of growth. This role offers a high level of responsibility and autonomy whilst working closely with the wider Merchandising Team to set the agenda of the business. The successful candidate will report into the Team Manager for Merchandising. The role requires a solution driven attitude, with excellent IT skills and the ability to communicate with many stakeholders. It will also involve testing new concepts and analysing results. Previous experience of working in merchandising or space planning is required. What you'll do • Develop and adapt systems to meet the future demands of the merchandising department, and the wider business • Support with the analysis of project tests • Regular meetings with stakeholders involved in projects, such as Buying and Customer Insights • Review how space has been allocated in each store to identify opportunities and efficiencies• Support with the development of new store concepts • Present ideas and proposals to Senior Management and Directors • Strategically collaborate and cooperate with cross-functional teams in our National and International Headquarters, Regional Distribution Centres and Stores What you'll need • Relevant experience of Space Planning and / or Merchandising is essential for this role• Experience of working on projects, with proven results• Initiative-taking, creative, and able to develop efficient and dynamic solutions• Excellent attention to detail • An adaptable communication style to get your message across to anyone• A confident presenter with the ability to adapt your communication style• Strong PC skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint• A forward-thinking attitude who is happy to bring new ideas to the table What you'll receive This isn't getting by.
