Corporate Head of Service - Community Housing (Grade M)

Are you a senior housing professional ready to lead transformative services in a progressive and evolving London borough?

We are recruiting for an experienced Corporate Head of Service - Community Housing to lead housing strategy and operations within a dynamic local authority environment. This is an opportunity to shape housing services that make a direct impact on vulnerable communities and contribute to wider borough-wide growth and wellbeing goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead strategic and operational delivery of housing options, accommodation services, welfare reform, and resettlement support.

  • Design and implement solutions in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and related housing legislation.

  • Build partnerships across public, private, and voluntary sectors to deliver sustainable, person-centred housing outcomes.

  • Drive innovation, performance, and digital transformation across your teams.

What We're Looking For:
  • Senior leadership experience in housing, homelessness prevention, or community services.

  • Strong commercial and strategic thinking with a focus on commissioning, budget management, and value-for-money outcomes.

  • Ability to lead through complexity, influence across stakeholder groups, and embed a culture of continuous improvement.

  • A commitment to equity, community wellbeing, and collaborative leadership.

Carrying out regular property visits and reporting findings to Landlords Organising estimates for repair or maintenance works on behalf of Landlords Arranging check in and check out inventories as needed Maintaining communication with Landlords and tenants through the duration of the tenancy Authorising contractors invoices
