SEND Teaching Assistant - Surrey

I am currently recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to support children with SLD, Complex needs, and ASD. As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will support students on a one-on-one basis throughout the school day.

Your role will involve supporting pupils in the classroom, participating in specialist mentoring sessions, and assisting during some break times. The classes are made up of small number of children from the ages of 2-18 years, and the classes are built up based on the needs of the children rather than their age. As a key member of the child's support team, you will collaborate closely with the SENCO, senior management, and external professionals such as therapists, healthcare providers, and CAMHS.

Job Responsibilities

  • Comfortable supporting pupils with SLD, Complex needs, and ASD
  • Ability to engage and support pupils
  • Assist with personal care if needed
  • Supervising pupils' behaviour

Job Requirements

  • Experience in supporting children or young adults with SEND is desirable but is not essential.
  • Calm and empathetic
  • Proactive
  • Good behaviour management
  • Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
  • Available 5 days a week and able to commit to at least 2-6 months
