MMP Consultancy is seeking a Building Control Services Manager on behalf of a Local Authority based in South West London. This is a temporary 3 month contract subject to possible extension. The rate of pay is 505pd inside of IR35.The Building Control Services Manager will be responsible for the operational management, ongoing development, and promotion of the Building Control Services within the Borough. Candidates must hold registration with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) at Class 3 and Class 4.Key Responsibilities: Play a key role in the collective leadership of the Council as part of the Corporate Leadership Group. Provide effective project leadership to achieve desired outcomes for cross-cutting and service-related projects. Inspire and lead the Building Control Service, ensuring high performance within a networked operating model. Facilitate change and innovation, fostering a culture of smart and collaborative working. Mentor and guide less experienced colleagues, encouraging their career development through personal growth and outstanding performance. Collaborate with management and colleagues to define outcomes, set targets, and monitor performance within a culture of continual improvement. Maintain a licence with the Building Safety Regulator as a Registered Building Inspector.Qualifications and Skills: Proven leadership and management experience within a Building Control environment. Strong understanding of Building Regulations and associated legislation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage complex relationships and contracts. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation. Chartered Building Surveyor: MRICS Relevant Degree in Building Surveying/ Construction
