Overview: Join a prominent property group located in Kingston, London, with a diverse portfolio of assets. We are seeking a diligent and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in accountancy practice, with expertise in year-end accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and management accounting. This role will initially focus on coordinating accounts for our 20 divisions, with the opportunity to transition into a group internal auditor position. The successful candidate will have the chance to collaborate with a reputable Big 4 practice and eventually lead a finance assistant, with a performance-related bonus available.
Hybrid: 5 days in the office (hybrid considered depending on requirements after 3 months)
Key Responsibilities:
- Year-End Accounts and Balance Sheet Reconciliations:
- Prepare and review year-end accounts for all divisions within the property group.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or variances identified during reconciliations.
- Coordination of Navision Accounts:
- Coordinate the preparation of Navision accounts for the property group s divisions.
- Collaborate with finance teams across divisions to gather and consolidate financial data.
- Analyse Navision accounts and assess financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Group Internal Auditor Role:
- Over time transition into a group internal auditor position, collaborating with a reputable Big 4 practice.
- Conduct internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with policies and regulations.
- Share findings and liaise with external auditors, supporting the audit process and implementing recommendations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified accountant ACA (ICAEW), ACCA preferred.
- Previous experience in an accountancy practice is essential.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Navision experience is advantageous).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement.
