Tudor Roasting in the Historic Kitchens
Hampton Court Palace
12th Feb 2022 - 20th Feb 2022
UNTIL Sunday 20th February
Join our Historic Cooks in Henry VIII's Kitchens at Hampton Court this February half term and discover life on the lower rungs of the Tudor court ladder.
Famous as the food factory built for her father, King Henry VIII, the kitchens continued to produce roasted meat for Queen Mary I's court and guests.
Come along and find out what work went into producing succulent roasted meats for Mary I's dinners. Take the opportunity to warm yourself in front of the blazing fire and experience the role of the tournebroche, roasting the meat on the long metal spit.
Just remember, be careful not to get too close - it's just the meat we want cooking!
