Climate KAOS: Friday 10 September 2021 – Saturday 26 March 2022

Humanity is experiencing a Climate Emergency. An urgent issue of our time is how to take collective action to prevent its worst effects. Kingston Museum's latest exhibition gives a voice to over thirty members of KAOS 'Kingston Artists Open Studios' to draw attention to this situation and reflect on it through their artworks. They consider the impact of people on the planet, both locally and globally.

There will be two prize winners from among the entries in this year's competition. Dr. Paul Micklethwaite, course leader of Kingston University's MA in Sustainable Design, will choose one. Visitors will then have the chance to cast their vote to choose the second prize winning artwork. This artist's name will be announced when all votes have been counted at the end of the exhibition.

Events linked to 'Climate KAOS' will allow participants to discover more about the neighbourhood's biodiversity and will open up debates on relevant topics. Kingston Council is one of over 900 local governments from 18 countries which have declared a Climate Emergency.

"We can't save the world by playing by the rules, because the rules have to be changed. Everything needs to change – and it has to start today." Greta Thunberg, climate activist
