IMMERSIVE THEATRE SHOW - Story Storks presents The First Father Christmas, the Fabulously Funny Christmassy tale of St Nicholas specially written for kids from 2 years up.  We join St Nick as he embarks on a mission to save three girls from slavery with bags of gold coins (real ones, not chocolate!) But should he get caught, the gold will be refused. How can he get the money into the house without being seen, especially as the windows and doors are locked? Does anyone have a ladder!

Set in Roman-occupied Turkey, this immersive theatre show is suitable for those of all religions (or none) and tells how St Nicholas's generosity gave rise to Christmas Traditions that we still celebrate today, including hanging stockings in the fireplace, munching on gold coins and why the big man himself comes down the chimney at Christmastime.

WHERE IS THE SHOW

The show is in All Saints Church in the nave (the main bit where the congregation sits on a Sunday!) Whilst the church will be open to the public, the performance area will be closed to the public.

HOW MUCH ARE THE TICKETS

Adults and kids must buy a ticket for the show, priced at £6 per adult and £4 per child. We have a limit of 30 children in the room plus as many adults as want to attend with them. Babes in arms come for free (see more details below). Tickets via this link www.ticketsource.co.uk/all-saints-church-kingston/t-jxkypak

HOW LONG IS THE SHOW?

The show is approx. 50 mins, but it takes us a while to get everyone in and out, so we allow an hour.

WHAT IS THE FORMAT?

There is no stage as such. The set is in different locations within what will be set up as a studio space with chairs around the outside. The children (and willing adults) will be called up periodically to join in with parts of the story.

THE PARENT'S ROLE

We want you to enjoy the show as much as the kids. However, we must stress that your child remains your responsibility throughout the performance. Some kids can get very excited by the interactive nature. We ask that you ensure your child is joining in safely and is not putting the other children at risk. The storyteller will ask children who become too excited to rejoin their parents for a minute or two to regulate before inviting them back into the story. We also respectfully ask that you don't gossip with friends during the performance, but please do feel free to talk to your child. Some children benefit from additional parent narration, and we would thoroughly encourage that. Please could you also ensure that your children don't touch the set!

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?

Fancy dress is thoroughly encouraged. Otherwise, something comfortable in which you can move. Children will be required to keep their shoes on.

CAN I BRING MY BABY?

Of course! We love babies at Story Storks. If your child is babe in arms, i.e. under 18 months, they come for free. If you think your child will want to join in, we ask you to pay for a space for them.

CAN WE EAT AND DRINK

Yes, but please keep all food and drink to the side of the room. All drinks must have a lid on them. There is a café at All Saints church which we would highly recommend.

MY CHILD IS SEN. WILL THIS WORK FOR THEM?

Absolutely. The performance is extremely relaxed, with lots of interaction with the storyteller. Our storyteller on this occasion is a trained teacher who has a good amount of experience working with kids with needs. We encourage you to contact us first so that we can discuss the individual needs of your child and make reasonable adjustments.
