Cyanotype and Lumen: Exploring Alternative Photographic Processes

Embark on a captivating journey into the world of Camera less photography through this engaging 2-session course, where you will experiment with cyanotype and lumen printing techniques.

Perfect for beginners and photography enthusiasts alike, this course offers a hands-on exploration of two distinct yet equally engaging processes that liberate you from the constraints of traditional photography.

Session 1: Cyanotype and lumen prints are historic solar photographic processes dating back to the 19th century. In this introductory session, you will learn the basics of chemistry, coating techniques, and exposure methods and experiment with varied papers and materials to create your own photograms without the need for a camera.

Session 2: You will experiment further with cyanotype and lumen printing using digital negatives and mixing both processes to create cyanolumen.

By the end of this course, you will be able to work independently to create cyanotype and lumen prints at home.
