Every Thursday we round up all the eye-catching events occurring in your area over the weekend.

A View from the Bridge, Rose Theatre 

Beatrice and Eddie Carbone have built an all-American life in Brooklyn where people are meant to look out for each other. When wife and husband take in their relations, two hard-working Sicilian immigrants, the family should pull together. Instead, everything starts to unravel. Eddie included. Book your tickets to Arthur Miller's visceral and compelling drama is a timeless masterpiece here

Friday 3 November 

Honey Pot, Kingston Hive, 11am-2pm 

Come along to the circular community second hand shop, host to a weekly clothing swap. Simply donate your unwanted wares and pick up some new-to-you items. Don't have anything to donate? Volunteer with Kingston Hive or make a small donation to its climate community hub. 

Afro Dance class, Kingston University, 7pm-8:30pm 

Want to show off your moves? Part of the Brazilian Cultural Festival and International Capoeira competition, join in with a free Afro Dance class. Sign up quick with only 35 spaces available. 

Saturday 4 November 

Repair Cafe, Surbiton Library, 10:30am-1pm

Transition Town Kingston's Repair Café will be back on the first Saturday morning of November in Kingston Library's community room, helping residents to save money and keep repairable stuff out of the waste system. Visitors can bring all sorts of broken items to fix on the spot with the help of our volunteer repairers and refreshments while you wait, watch and learn. 

Dead hedge creation, Jubilee Square New Malden, 10am-1pm 

Join the New Malden Town Centre Partnership as we work to create a dead hedge which will provide fantastic habitat for invertebrates. The dead hedge will provide fantastic habitat for invertebrates and birds while also helping to protect the wildlife area. 

SSO Presents Mozart, Strauss, and Mahler, St Andrew's Church, 6pm 

The Surbiton Symphony Orchestra and conductor Peter Le Tissier return to the stage with a performance linking two of the turn-of-the-century's greatest colleagues, composers, conductors and friends with each other. 

Fireworks display, Hook Arena, 6:30pm and 7:30pm 

As Kingston Rotary Club's fireworks display is cancelled, the next closest family display is at Hook Arena. The Epsom display is one of the best and the largest displays in the South of England with about £20,000 of aerial display fireworks. There is a low noise children's show at 6.30pm. This display is for younger children and is included in the ticket price for the main show at 7.30pm. The two shows are ideal for the whole family and have added attraction of a pay per ride Fun Fair with candyfloss and toffee apples too. We also have hot food and drink outlets. So enjoy! 

The Speakeasy Party: Remi Banklyn and the King Bees, The Grey Horse, doors from 7pm with 9pm start 

The King Bees are a Blues ensemble that share love for the golden era of the early fifties blues sound made popular by Blues men such as Muddy Waters, Jimmy Rogers, Little Walter, BB King among others. 

Sunday 5 November 

Sunday Night Quiz, The Albion, 7:30pm 

Get your thinking caps on and sharpen your competitive streak with a pub quiz! 1st prize is a £50 tab voucher with rollover jackpot questions. Food served until 10pm.
