Improve your wildlife photography at London Wetland Centre – Saturday, 24 February
Whether you are a dedicated twitcher or Sunday snapper, photographers of all levels are welcome to join professional photographer Nick Dale, who has captured wildlife across all seven continents.
The workshop is kept small to allow for more one-on-one time with Nick, but also means it will get booked up quickly, so don't delay if you fancy starting your weekend in nature with a Sunday Times award-winning photographer.
Runs from 9:30am to 1:30pm, with café stops at the beginning and end of the workshop for Qs, As, and refreshments.
Visit RuptureXIBIT's first open call residency with Jacqui Barrowcliffe – Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 February
This weekend is your last opportunity to make one of Jacqui Barrowcliffe's open studio days as she comes to the end of her three-week residency in Hampton Wick's ReptureXIBIT.
With a residency split between Jacqui's home in North Yorkshire and RuptureXIBIT, the artist's work examines "the challenges artist parents face whilst trying to balance their home life and artistic practice," which is sure to strike a chord with all artists, amateur or professional.
Even when physically elsewhere, Jacqui continues to "transmit to the gallery daily" via postcards, live video, and even a nanny cam.
RuptureXIBIT's studio is open Saturday 24 February, 12pm to 7pm and Sunday 25 February from 10am to 12pm.
Learn about the Goat Boy of Seething at local community festival – Sunday 25 February
The Community Brain's annual Seething Village Festival held at Surbiton's St Andrew's Square is coming up this weekend.
Seeing up to 1,000 attendees each year, the festival hopes to bring the local community together after a cold dark winter, lifting spirits with a street parade, live music, and a number of food stalls.
2024's festival will also see the promotion of two new community projects: the Mini Cooper story, honouring Surbiton's role in the iconic car's development, and the Festival of Futures.
The festival will run from 1pm to 4:30 on Sunday 25 February, with an itinerary that can be found here.
