Mark has written several acclaimed books, including: Reasons To Be Cheerful and What's Going On and he writes a weekly column for The Independent for which he won Columnist of the Year at the Press Awards in 2015.

The show starts at 8pm and is strictly 16+. Warning: Likely to be swearing and adult content.

FRIDAY: Palace at St John's Church

To celebrate the release of their third full length album titled 'Shoals', the excellent Palace return to Kingston to play a stripped-back set at St John's Church, the perfect venue for their dreamy-indie-rock sounds..

"Shoals' is a record about confronting our own fears and anxieties. Through the pandemic we were confronted more than ever with ourselves with little distraction, suddenly seeing who we are in the rawest of forms. It held a mirror up to our flaws and imperfections and forced us to see the real 'us'.

"The album symbolises how our minds can have beautiful and dangerous depths, like the ocean, and how our fears and thoughts are like shoals of fish that move and shift constantly from place to place; chaotic, often untameable and unpredictable."

Doors 7pm, 8pm Palace take the stage. This show is 14+, under 14s must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.

SATURDAY: Learn To Make Solid Silver Jewellery Making Course

Solid silver jewellery making courses run for half a day and includes all materials, tools and training required to make your very own piece.

In this half day taster experience, you will design your own piece of solid silver jewellery (1 necklace pendant, bracelet charm or two small earrings) using our samples and materials to give you inspiration. Or perhaps you'll come with your own ideas.

We will guide your through the designing, shaping, drying and sanding processes and finally, you will fire your piece using a hand-torch, polish and finish it off with a jump-ring and chain.

You can leave the workshop wearing your own hand crafted piece of fine silver jewellery as a gift to yourself or for friends and family!

This complete beginner's workshop is designed for people with little or no experience of jewellery making, crafting or silver clay, with a maximum of 6 people per workshop. It is held in a home-studio in Kingston Upon Thames, in an informal, relaxed and calm atmosphere.
