Voting is now open for the 'The People's Choice' award as part of The Kingston Society's Townscape Awards 2023.

Recognising excellence in architecture and landscape, the Townscape Awards are an essential component of the Society's mission to promote and acknowledge quality in the development of the beautiful built environment of the Royal Borough of Kingston.

Residents have the opportunity to vote for the building project they consider having done the most to enhance the environment and achieve excellence in built or green contributions to Kingston over the last five years.

Choosing one project out of the 16, voters will decide 'The People's Choice' award which along with the judges awards will form a separate award to reflect public opinion.

Receiving a total of 34 nominations over the four categories, many which were new builds but the list also included community initiatives.

The four main award categories for 2023 are:

  • New buildings: developments of any size
  • Renovation: Refurbishment and / or sensitive extensions to old buildings of distinction
  • Landscape: any project that has positively contributed to the borough's environment
  • Greenscape: any project that has ecology at the heart of its provision

After a rigorous selection process by The Kingston Society at a committee meeting, the nominations were reduced to 16.

The shortlist of nomination winners include:

  • New house Lower Ham road
