A Surbiton special education school is celebrating after receiving a £2,000 donation, from a developer and construction contractor, towards two new ULEZ- compliant minibuses.

London-based urban logistics developer and asset manager Chancerygate and construction contractor Harmonix Construction, made the donation.

The two companies are currently working together to deliver Metroplex Park, a £30m, 69,800 sq ft urban logistics development on Red Lion Road which is located less than a mile from the school.

Dysart School provides for pupils from Kingston and beyond who have a range of severe and complex learning disabilities.

The main school site is in Surbiton however the school also has a satellite provision in the Tolworth area as well as one in North Kingston.

The donation will contribute towards the school's £50,000 fundraising target to purchase new ULEZ compliant minibuses.

Commenting on the donation, head teacher of Dysart School, Leigh Edser, said: "We were thrilled when we were offered this great donation, this will help tremendously in our efforts to replace our current minibuses which are soon to be unviable in the area since the recent ULEZ expansion."

Dysart School's mission has been to nurture the unique talents, interests, and potential of their pupils, promote their wellbeing and learning and prepare them for their future.

Chancerygate development director, Matt Young, said: "It is a pleasure to support the Dysart School on their mission to replacing their existing minibuses.

"The school is invested in transforming the lives of its pupils and the use of private travel to external local facilities such as horse riding is vital to the children's curriculum which forms an important part of their day-to-day learning and development."

Founded in 1995, Chancerygate is the UK's largest multi-unit industrial developer and asset manager and the only one operating nationwide.

In addition to London, Chancerygate has offices in Warrington, Birmingham and Bristol.

Harmonix Construction project director, Gearoid Keane, said: "We are beyond pleased to be able to extend our reach into the local communities we work within.

"We are delighted to have been able to work with Chancerygate and Dysart School to help fund their new minibuses, valuable education and wellbeing for all at Dysart to enjoy."
