By Tilly O'Brien 30th Jun 2026
Chessington-based humanitarian charity, Humanity First UK, welcomed business owners, directors and community leaders to its inaugural Partners for Humanity networking event at SAAMS Hall in Morden on Saturday (28 June), bringing together representatives from a wide range of industries to explore how local businesses can play a greater role in creating positive social impact.
The evening provided attendees with the opportunity to network with fellow business leaders, learn about Humanity First UK's rich history and global humanitarian work, and discover the organisation's new Corporate Partnership Programme, designed to create meaningful, long-term collaborations between businesses and the charity.
More than 30 business leaders attended the event, representing a diverse range of sectors including finance, IT, telecommunications, retail, and professional services, demonstrating the growing appetite within the local business community to combine commercial success with social responsibility.

Speaking about why his business supports Humanity First UK, Shakeel Ahmed, Director of 7Seas Holidays, Surbiton, said the decision was based on what he describes as the '4 Cs' – supporting a meaningful Cause, having confidence in the charity's Credibility, building stronger Connectivity with customers, communities and other organisations, and demonstrating genuine Care for humanity and the values his business represents.

He added: "Humanity First UK represents everything we look for in a charitable partner. We know our support reaches those who need it most, while enabling businesses to come together around a shared purpose and make a lasting difference."
Speaking after the event, Jawad Ahmad, CEO of Serity Holdings, said: "I am very impressed by how Humanity First has progressed over the last few years and how it has been tackling the challenges of operating in places like Gaza."
During the presentation, Naveed Mughal, Head of Corporate Fundraising at Humanity First UK, outlined the vision behind the new partnership programme.
He said: "We're not looking for one-off charitable donations. Our ambition is to build meaningful, long-term partnerships with businesses that create lasting impact.
"By working together, businesses become part of a community that helps Humanity First continue delivering life-changing humanitarian programmes at a time when charities across the sector face increasing financial pressures."
The event marked the official launch of Humanity First UK's Corporate Partnership Programme, an initiative designed to strengthen relationships between the charity and the business community.
The programme offers organisations an opportunity to support humanitarian work through structured partnerships while also benefiting from impact reporting, recognition, networking opportunities and positive brand association.
Humanity First UK expressed its "sincere thanks to the organisations whose generous support made the evening possible".
