Richmond Park MP Sarah Olney has today spoken out against 'hazardous' cyclists.

The Liberal Democrat's constituency also covers much of North Kingston.

While Sarah Olney wants to see more people taking up cycling she is concerned that certain behaviour discourages others.

"I do find it frustrating that people are put off cycling by this sort of behaviour and there's no doubt that it's a hazard," she told Radio Jackie.

"I would just implore cyclists, especially if they're in the park - which is a national nature reserve, it's not a sports venue - to be thoughtful.

"They need to observe the Highway Code, speed limits and they need to think about the impact of their behaviour on others."

Richmond Park is a hugely popular spot for cycling, with stunning surroundings and a 7-mile loop to follow.

The park attracts many cyclists from Kingston - often with the Kingston Gate of the park being the main entry point from cyclists, motorists and pedestrians alike coming from the south.
