New flats could be built above Kingston's Wagamama, if plans are signed off by the council.

Kropifko Properties Ltd has applied for planning permission to repurpose a number of offices above the chain eatery, to create four new homes.

The High Street restaurant will not be impacted by the plans, apart from losing its first floor walk in fridge and office space.

Plans submitted to Kingston Council said: "To clarify the site: the ground restaurant use is to remain as existing, however the first floor rear restaurant area is to be converted to residential use.

"The first and second floor office use accessed via the front door at 18 High Street are also to be converted to residential use.

"No structural or external alterations are proposed."

It added: "This application proposes the removal of the existing office partition walls and the restaurant first floor reconfiguration with the forming of new partition walls to the layouts shown on the drawings.

"Four self contained flats are proposed."
