HAMPTON Court Palace will be hosting a five-day Tudor joust to celebrate the Queen's Royal Jubilee this year - and you could help organise it.

Historic Royal Palaces, the charity which looks after the palace, are looking for an Events Support Assistant to join their team on a temporary 6-month contract starting in March 2022.

A job description on their website reads: "The Events and Production Team within Public Engagement are looking for an organised, enthusiastic and motivated person to assist in the planning, organisation and delivery of a five day joust in June 2022 to mark the Platinum Jubilee at Hampton Court, and further public events in August 2022.

"This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated and energetic team."

The role comes with a salary of £24,440 pro rata and applications close on 17 January.

500-year-old Hampton Court Palace is linked to Kingston town centre via Hampton Court Road which runs between Bushy and Home Parks.

The grand buildings were used by the Tudor court during the time of Henry VIII and jousting took place as part of Royal events and celebrations.

Re-enactments of the medieval sport returned to the Palace over 400 years later, in 2009, and have taken place since to mark special occasions such as the palace's 500th anniversary.

The Palace also hosts an annual music festival which will return in June 2022.
