Staff at Kingston Hospital have thrown a series of celebratory picnics to mark the 75th anniversary of the NHS, this week.

Doctors, nurses, and other medical staff took part in the festivities, with some even taking their colleagues on in a tug o' war.

A variety of cakes were donated by RB Kares for some of the hospital's teams to enjoy.

Many of the staff celebrating worked tirelessly through the pandemic, showing unwavering dedication to their profession and to those who needed them most.

On July 5, exactly 75 years to the day the NHS was founded, a spokesperson tweeted: "We're celebrating the hard work and commitment of all our amazing staff, past and present, as well as our fantastic volunteers and partners.

"Happy birthday, NHS!"
