Kingston: Have your say on signage in Bushy and Richmond Parks
ARE you one of those people who is always complaining about the signs in Bushy Park and Richmond Park?
Pick up your litter, keep your dogs on a lead. Failure can lead to hefty fines - but we also want to enjoy the freedom of the parks.
So now, The Royal Parks is inviting visitors to have their say; what really works; which form of words resonates or irritates; even the letters and colours.
The public consultation follows numerous incidents in Richmond and Bushy Parks of dogs chasing deer when they should have kept on their leads, people getting close to and feeding wild animals, and litter being dumped rather than making use of the increased number of bins.
Lucy Kellett, Interpretation Manager for the Royal Parks, said: "We are working on improving the signs you see in the Royal Parks.
"It's important work as even a small increase in the percentage of people who read and follow the signs can have a huge impact on wildlife and the amount our charity spends on things like clearing litter.
"As one of our supporters we'd really value your opinion on what tone of voice works best. We've put together a short survey featuring a few examples and we'd love your feedback."
"The survey should take around five minutes and will give you an opportunity to help shape how we present information to millions of people each year."
