The MP for Kingston and Surbiton, Sir Ed Davey, has released his 25th Annual Report for the borough following his re-election as Kingston and Surbiton's MP against the Conservatives.

In his report, Sir Davey said: "Since then [the local Election], I'm really pleased the re-building of Tolworth Hospital has begun and the new disabled access at the rear of Surbiton Station has opened - not least because both had required years of determined campaigning and work to get over the line.

"For young people, I'm delighted Kingston Council's Children's services were awarded "outstanding" by Ofsted in January. I was proud to lead a Commons debate on Kingston University's "Future Skills" initiative, equipping students with the broader skills they need.

"Nationally, I was really disappointed when Keir Starmer ended Winter Fuel Payments for most pensioners and his decision to "go slow" and urgently needed social care reforms. I accept there is a lot to do, to clean up the mess left by the conservatives, yet have argued there are better ways, such as raising tax on social media giants.

"I've also been the only opposition Party Leader urging the Prime Minister to be tougher on President Trump. While I understand the need to work with the White House, I'm not convinced President Trump can be trusted for that he's a reliable ally dash for our economy or security. So, I've proposed an "economic coalition of the willing" with our European and Commonwealth allies to back free trade and to show Trump we have alternatives."
