Kingston: 13-year-old boy rushed to hospital after Tolworth car crash

A 13-year-old boy rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Tolworth yesterday afternoon (14 September)

The crash happened on the Kingston Road A240 at around 3.50pm.

The boy was treated at the scene for head and leg injuries then taken to a major trauma centre by ambulance crews.

Police spoke to the car's driver about the incident. No arrests have been made.

The incident resulted in road closures which have since been lifted.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 3:48pm yesterday (14 September) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian on Kingston Road, Surbiton.

"We sent an ambulance crew, and a medic in a car to the scene.

"We treated a child for head and leg injuries and took them to a major trauma centre."

A Met Police spokesperson said: "On Tuesday 14th September at approximately 15:50 hours, police were informed of a Road Traffic Collision that had occurred on Kingston Road, Tolworth.

"Police arrived on scene at approximately 16:00 hours and found that a 13 year old boy had been injured having been hit by a car.

"The London Ambulance Service attended and transported the boy to hospital. His injuries are neither life changing or life threatening.

"The driver of the vehicle was on scene and was spoken to by police. No arrests have been made.

"Road closures were put in place but these have since been lifted."
