Dame Jacqueline Wilson named in King’s New Year Honours List 2025

Best-selling author Jacqueline Wilson DBE was named in this year's King's New Years Honours List for her services to literature.

Wilson was born in Bath in 1945 but spent most of her childhood growing up in Kingston.

She has strong associations with Kingston University, which even has a lecture hall named after her, and she received an honorary doctorate from the university in 2000,

Wilson is a well-known author of children's literature but is probably best known for her Tracey Beaker series, which had its own TV show on CBBC.

The author currently lives in Kingston.
