RICHMOND PARK RESULTS: North Kingston remains in Lib Dem hands with 21,457 votes

Liberal Democrat candidate Sarah Olney has been re-elected as Richmond Park's MP with a 55% share of the vote.

The result was announced today, 5 July, at 3:20am in St Mary's University, the constituency's count centre.

Addressing the crowd after her victory, Ms Olney said: "The Liberal Democrats are going to be a force to be reckoned with in the new Parliament."

Her success had been mirrored minutes earlier by the party's candidate in neighbouring Twickenham constituency, Munira Wilson, who won with a 56% majority with 30,185 votes.

The Lib Dems also won in nearby Wimbledon, and the borough's main seat of Kingston & Surbiton, where party leader Ed Davey received 25,870 votes.

The results for Richmond Park constituency can be found below:

  • Sarah Oleny (Liberal Democrats) – 55.4% / 28,528 votes
  • Sara Gezdari (Conservatives) – 22.1% / 11,373 votes
  • Laura Coryton (Labour) – 9.8% / 5,048 votes
  • Michael Hearn (Reform) – 6.3% / 3,258 votes 
  • Chas Warlow (Greens) – 5.3% / 2,728 votes
  • Chris French (The Mitre TW9) – 0.7% / 349 votes
  • Richard Harrison (Social Democrats) – 0.5% / 233 votes

Turnout was 69.9%, with a total of 50,818 votes cast in the constituency.
