A leading research and development organisation has started the year by investing heavily in its R&D team based in Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey. It is currently looking for an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join its Engineering team in Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey.

The company designs electronic sensor-based instrumentation used in harsh environments, and the Electronics Design Engineer will have the opportunity to contribute at all stages to new and enhanced products.

Key responsibilities of the Electronics Design Engineer job in Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey:

  • Design, develop and test of analogue and digital electronic circuits
  • Support product design, integration, validation and handover to production
  • Use knowledge and experience of integrated circuit interfacing and digital communication systems, and processor interfacing

  • Strong knowledge of analogue and digital circuit design and PCB design
  • Knowledge of microcontrollers, Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
  • Experience using design, simulation and verification tools for FPGA-HDL design

  • Python scripting
  • Awareness of research and development methodologies for high-technology products

You would need to be a highly technical hands on structural engineer, with a CV showing significant experience with a range of buildings structures work and leadership roles. Ideally you will be MICE or MIStructE qualified. Geotechnical knowledge would be useful. You must have the full right to work in the UK and be living within commuting distance. The role will also include some permanent works design and geotechnical works. You will be given exposure to a wide variety of challenging works, including working on a variety of large buildings design projects often involving high profile and complex buildings projects. There will be demolition works, needling and propping, fa ade retentions, foundation designs, stability and alteration works, basements, geotechnical works and some permanent works. The role will be very varied and would suit a driven candidate with a problem solving can do attitude. Excellent communication skills and English are essential.The emphasis here is on high quality design solutions in a contractor led, often reactive work environment, so you must be a clear thinker and keen to work in a fast paced environment, leading from the front.
